The IO42E01KNX module is an input and output interface device and can be configured with ETS® to communicate with the KNX Data Secure protocol.
The module includes:
• 2 digital inputs
• 1 digital / analog input
• 1 digital / analog / smart sensor input
• 2 relay outputs (bistable)
The digital inputs can be connected to dry contacts and interface sensors, traditional buttons, etc. They can be configured to send on/off commands on the bus, for dimmers or rolling shutters, scenarios and send sequences of 3 telegrams.
Inputs 3 and 4 can be configured as analogue to manage NTC temperature probes (see eelectron probes code TS01A01ACC/ TS01B01ACC/ TS01D01ACC) with which to send the temperature measurement on the bus or manage a complete thermostat module. The thermostat manages 2 stages with integrated PI controller for driving heating and cooling equipment, including valves, 2 and 4 pipe fan coils.
Input 4 can be configured as a “smart sensor” for connecting the plug-in sensors: SM03E01ACC which includes a temperature sensor (range from -5°C to +50°C) and a CO2 sensor (range from 10 ppm at 1000 ppm) and SM03E02ACC which includes a temperature sensor (range from -5°C to +50°C) and a VOC sensor for measuring Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and CO2 equivalent (eCO2).

The device foresees that the 2 outputs can be configured in the following ways:
• For the control of generic loads (2 independent channels).
• For controlling rolling shutters, in coupled mode (1 channel consisting of both relays).
• For controlling a servomotor, in coupled mode.
• For logic interlocking control.
The device integrates an antenna with BEACON BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) function. Data format compatible with iBeacon® and Eddystone®.
The device allows you to set the transmission frequency and signal strength.
BLE technology allows sending messages to mobile devices. These devices must have an app that allows them to receive information from BLE beacons.
Furthermore, 12 logic blocks are available with which to create simple expressions with logical or threshold operators or complex expressions with algebraic operators, conditional ones finally use predefined algorithms such as proportional controls of temperature and humidity or calculation of the dew point.
The device also integrates the “Virtual Pocket Logic”; the field of application is the hotel room: accurate presence information is managed by means of a magnetic sensor installed on the door and connected to a digital input. The presence detection solution can infer the presence of people in the room using one or more dedicated sensors. It also detects an unexpected presence and is able to differentiate multiple behaviors.
